David Alcock - Violin Maker

David says...

I became interested in making violins in 1993, through playing. I subsequently went to the Newark School of Violin Making to study for three years in the subject, graduating with a diploma in 1998. This intensive and internationally recognized course covered all aspects of lutherie. I made many instruments during my time there, from Stradivaris to Guarneris, and also models of my own design. My main interest in lutherie is the reconstruction of traditional methods, working techniques and varnishes of the Cremonese, Venetian and Brescian makers.
