Radio Control Model Planes

I am a recent convert to R/C flying. 40 years ago I did some model building, but I have forgotten most of what went on then - except for the doping and the tissue paper and that engines that did not start easily - unless they were Jetex.

Planes past and present:-

Thunder Tiger 2000 trainer, powered by an Irvine 46. Futaba receiver and servos.

Thunder tiger

Hmm now defunct - one wind shear too many, and insufficient experience.....

Thunder tiger broke

So the trainer is now a Thunder Tiger MK II Trainer, with all the bits swapped over from the first trainer.

Also defunct.

Spacewalker 2 by Seagull, powered by an Irvine 53. JR receiver and servos. Defunct as well - twice! Will I never learn?

Spacewalker 2

Bristol F2B Fighter by Flair, under construction, and to be powered by a Saito 120s 4 stroke. Receiver and servos not specified yet, anysuggestions? Not defunct as is still a hangar queen...

Bristol Fighter

So now there is an Irvine Tutor, battered but can still fly.

 Also defunct.

Well not quite, patched back together and a Saito 120 engine - just to see what happened.

Actually flies reasonably well. With a pile of lead at the back to correct the centre of gravity.

However the two planes I fly and they keep going and going are the ARC Ready2 using an Irvine 46 and the ARC Jupiter which uses an Irvine 53.

And now the ARC Modelfly Beaver Experimental which uses an Irvine 53. Read my review at:- http://www.flyingsites.co.uk/reviews/arcbeaver.htm
